Planning a trip — talk it through
Masai · Mara

Consultation

Talk it through first.

A quiet half-hour by video — before the trip, or before the camera.

If a trip to the Mara is on the horizon — or already booked — it can help to talk to someone who has been recently and goes back. About thirty minutes, on a video call. No charge.

What it usually covers: when to go and what each month looks like on the ground; which conservancy or block fits the kind of trip you have in mind; camps and operators worth a closer look; and, if you are bringing a camera, what to plan around — light, vehicles, lenses, and the few things only the field teaches.

It is not a sales call. There is nothing to book at the end of it, and no follow-up unless you ask for one. The aim is that you leave with two or three concrete things you did not know when you started.
